Unwanted tattoos, freckles, age spots, and birthmarks have always been frustrating. Traditional removal methods such as surgical excision, dermabrasion, chemical peels, and cryotherapy are often painful, leave scars, require long healing, and rarely give satisfying results. They damage normal skin and offer little precision.
That is why Q-switched Nd:YAG laser technology is now the gold standard. It uses ultra-short nanosecond pulses (less than eight nanoseconds) with extremely high peak energy. The light is absorbed only by the target pigment – tattoo ink or melanin – and creates a photomechanical blast that shatters the pigment into tiny fragments. These fragments are either ejected through the skin or removed naturally by the body’s lymphatic system. The surrounding healthy skin remains unharmed.
The Q-switched Nd:YAG laser has two main wavelengths: 532nm for red, orange, pink, brown, and other light pigments; and 1064nm for black, blue, green, and deep dark pigments. An additional 1320nm wavelength allows skin rejuvenation: shrinking pores, removing blackheads, tightening skin, and reducing wrinkles.
